Description du poste : | The Structural Motility Team at the Institut Curie, Paris (Anne Houdusse, DR CNRS), is looking for a dynamic, motivated and multi-task engineer (“Ingénieur d’Etudes” or “Ingénieur de Recherche”) for an initial 12-month contract to start in November 2024. Our state-of-the-art laboratory uses a multi-disciplinary approach combining structural biology (x-ray and cryoEM), chemical biology, molecular dynamics and cell biology to innovate in the investigation and understanding of molecular mechanisms involving different motors in cells. We work in close collaboration with industrial partners. Our studies concern the very basics of force production, as well as the different cellular roles of the motors, their regulation, and how they can be targeted for developing novel chemical biology tools and therapies against human diseases. The engineer will work in multiple projects, both short and long term, and be responsible for the organization of the wet lab (orders, experiment scheduling, safety measures). |
Compétences attendues: | The following skills are essential: - Good practical expertise in protein purification; - Practical experience with crystallization screening and optimization; - Easiness in sharing knowledge and guiding students and colleagues; - Easiness in managing multiple projects simultaneously (planning, organization, definition of priorities, monitoring, reporting, team work); - Flexibility to deal with changes of external origin. These are not essential but will certainly be valued: - Experience in X-ray data collection and processing; - Experience in electron microscopy (negative staining and/or CryoEM); - Experience in cloning and biochemical assays; - Advanced knowledge of Linux; - Good communication skills in English. |
Contexte de travail: | What our laboratory offers to that person: - An international, dynamic environment with no fixed routine where everyone is always learning and sharing information; - New enriching experiences that will form those who are looking for a position in industry or a structural biology platform, hopefully crowned by authorship in one or more high impact publications; - A potential of open doors with our industrial partners depending on the results and available opportunities; |
